Groceries for the week 1

I've been making bento for awhile, and started to post some pictures of them on my Facebook page. My husband, Jimmy kept telling me to blog about it but I've been too busy raising two children (3 years old and 3months old). I thought...
However, I've been complaining to him about how I don't have any hobbies...

I've gotta admit, it's time to start BLOGGING!
Since I recently realized that my hobby is actually to 'cook' and make 'bento' for Jimmy, might as well make it fun and exciting (for me).
I try to cook on a budget of $70/week!

Here the groceries I bought for this week;

I usually buy vegetables at Korean/Japanese market in downtown.
The reason is because usually Korean markets have cheaper priced vegetables. And also have Asian vegetables and other items for Japanese cooking.
This week, all those stuff above only cost me $16.30 including sales tax.
The 5lb bag of Idaho potato was only 99cents! They usually have green onions for super cheap price, and today, they had it for 99cents for 8 bundles!
I don't even know how they make money out of them, but it sure is great news for a house wife like myself :)

I like buying fruits, meat, milk, frozen items and other goodies at Trader Joe's.
Those above cost me $30.67.

So far I have spent $46.97. The remaining $23.03 goes to extra fruits, vegetables, meat/seafood, and/or snacks I might add on later.

I used to buy meat and seafood in bulk at Costco.
I don't know which gets cheaper. Buy weekly amount at a regular store?
Or buy bulk at Costco...

Let me try weekly first...then I will try Costco (old) way.
Or I could do mix and match. I will stick to it once I find my own style of budget shopping for groceries :)

I still have some stuff from previous shopping at Costco, such as shrimp and fish. So don't think I cheat when you see those items on my cooking!
